Salee's Story
November 7, 2006 – Hasswa, Iraq:
Salee, a ten-year-old girl, was playing outside her home with her brother, cousin and some friends. US jets circled overhead. Suddenly the jets fired three missiles, apparently at two passenger vehicles. One of the missiles hit Salee's home, killing her brother and blowing off both of Salee's legs. This is just one story of many hundreds known euphemistically as "Collateral Damage."
In this video we'll learn first hand what happened to Salee and her family that day and about what some are doing to heal those wounds.
Salee was in the United States for pro-bono medical care for those injuries. Her trip was sponsored entirely by donations and was organized by No More Victims.

With thanks for the dedicated professional work of the REUTERS TEAM IN IRAQ.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO VIEW THE INTRODUCTION AND THE 3 PROFILES
The Iraq war is now costing the people of the US $400,000,000 each day.
The cost in human life is an act of insanity.

"...Your life and your death are nothing to these fields... nothing, not more than it is to the man planning the next attack. Your death will not make the world safe for your children. Your death means no more than if you had died in your bed, full of years and respectability, having begotten a tribe of young. Yet by your courage in tribulation, by your cheerfulness before the dirty devices of this world, you have won the love of those who have watched you. All we remember is your living face, and that we loved you for being of our clay and spirit."
